Was It A UFO

The only time I thought I saw a UFO was on a trip from friends in North Carolina headed back to N.Y. in 1994-95. It was about 9:00 at night and as I passed by this house in a clearing of trees. I saw something on my left and it took me a minute or so to question what I thought I saw.
I turned around, headed back south, and I saw out of my passenger window what looked exactly like how people describe a flying saucer. It was hovering over this house about forty feet in the air. It was a perfectly clear night. As I drove by, I thought to take my camcorder out and film it, but when I went by the house the third time the saucer was gone. I was pretty upset with myself for not just stopping then and there to film it.
