Nature Has Consciousness
by Sue Greenwald
In the late 1990’s, while walking on the country roads in PA, I was passing a small grouping of very tall trees. There were perhaps about an acre or two of them tightly grouped together. It was a quiet afternoon, and I’d often walked along this quiet country road. On this occasion, I heard a noise, looked up, and saw that a tree was actively moving. Only 1 tree out of the whole grouping was moving!
It was in the middle of the tightly packed grouping of trees, vigorously swaying from side to side and moving for no apparent reason. There wasn’t any wind or any other “logical” reason that would make a 50 foot tree move. It wasn’t just swaying with the wind; it was actively rocking from side to side. The tree was maybe a foot in diameter, and was tightly packed in with all the other trees, which were silent. The tree creaked a little as it moved.
What would make one tree out of a thousand actively move? I stood and watched the tree for quite a while, unable to find any logical reason why it’d be moving. It definitely got my attention. I know that trees are intelligent beings, and have access to the energy of all that is. I’m just not sure why this particular one moved!
One afternoon a few years later, I was walking on a different country road near my house, when I saw a bird land on a tree branch near me. I thought “I wonder what kind of bird that is”, while walking by it and trying to determine what kind of bird it was. The bird telepathically answered “nuthatch”. That was very exciting as I wasn’t expecting an answer. I’ve tried to use that ability on other animals, with varying results.
These little examples have shown me that nature is conscious, and probably way more aware than we are!
