Grandpas Tree

By Sue Greenwald

My family owned a summer home at the northern part of New York State, on the St. Lawrence River, where I spent every summer and weekend from April through October.  It was a magical place to grow up!  There was a large maple tree in our front yard, where my grandfather would sit in the afternoon.  We called it Grandpa’s tree.

I used to sit there and meditate as I got older, and would often envision that very spot when I did remote meditations as it was my happy spot.  Eventually, I realized that it was a portal.  The fairies were drawn to that spot, and it also led to Inner Earth.  When I meditated on that spot, I’d see a “rainbow bridge” coming from the closest Canadian Island, directly to where I was, with Angels all around and the Mer people in the river.

It was truly magical, and our family spent about 70 years sitting under that beautiful tree. Toward the end of my family’s ownership of that property, I felt less and less drawn to that spot, which I feel like was my withdrawing from it and letting it go.

During the 2010’s, I’d rented a townhouse in Douglassville PA, where I could see a beautiful tall tree which reminded me of the tree at our summer home, where my grandfather would sit.  This particular tree looked exactly like Grandpas tree.  I watched this tree all the time and wanted to visit it.   One day, we had a snowstorm, so my daughter and I took a walk along the country road.  During that time, I hugged many of the trees, felt their energy, and knew that they were conscious of me.   Most of them said Thank You, and my daughter quickly translated their communication to me.

Grandpas tree was in a huge yard of an old estate, and there was a posted sign on the land, so normally I’d just walk by it and wish I could approach it. The property was always very quiet there, and actually looked like it might be abandoned.    During the snowstorm, I wanted to hug Grandpas tree, so I asked to be shielded, and we walked to the tree.  I hugged it, super excited, and felt… nothing.  I couldn’t understand it.  My daughter said that the tree spoke to her in a cosmic language that she couldn’t understand, and mentioned something about the blue fairies.  It wouldn’t speak to us on purpose, which I’d never encountered!

Well, I marched back home, and called a friend that works primarily with fairies. She told me to have my daughter select a few stones or gifts for the tree.  We picked a couple of shells and crystals, and I made my daughter go back to the tree with me.  We put the crystals and shells around the roots and in the bark, and then I hugged the tree again.  This time, the tree apologized, and said that it was upset at the amount of construction in the area, that the homes for wildlife were being destroyed.  It was also upset that it was on posted land, as it was lonely and nobody ever came to see it anymore.  I went back to the tree a couple days later, and the shells and crystals had disappeared.  I told the tree I’d be back to visit, which I did a few more times after shielding. I’ve since moved but still think about that tree!

One thing I’ve realized in the past 20 years is that EVERYTHING has a consciousness!  This includes trees, rocks, animals, as well as inanimate objects.  For some reason, we’ve been taught that we’re the only ones that have feelings or knowledge, while in actuality, everything does. The trees, rocks, animals, are connected to the Akashic records of All That Is, and they literally know more about your past and future than you do!  It’s quite a different way to look at things.  When I see an especially attractive tree or rock, I touch it and acknowledge it.  When I need to throw away a trusted item, like an old pair of shoes, I thank them for their service.  In this way, I keep the vibration a little higher with the vibration of gratitude and awareness.
