Think Talking
By Nancy Leeder
I am the eldest of five children and have always been a very independent person, which my parents noted from a young age. I was told that my favorite line to use when someone tried to help me tie my shoes would be, “I do it myself!” Although the task was challenging, as I struggled with dexterity at that age, I still managed to accomplish it with pride.
In the fall of 1957, I was the first child to attend kindergarten and had to walk a little less than a mile to school one way. My mother insisted on walking me to school, and I can still remember how upset I was about having all my siblings and my mother walking me to school. I insisted that I was a big girl, and they should walk far behind me if they had to walk me to school. My mother slowed down to give distance between us.
After my mother saw that I was careful in watching traffic and knew the way to school and back home, I was allowed to walk to school by myself. In 1957, parents felt safe enough to allow their children to walk alone and wander the neighborhood until dark. I know that God has always been with me and protected me from harm.
On my way to school, I would think about things I saw, such as the birds chirping in the trees, and wonder why all birds didn’t have the same songs, and many other curiosities about nature that young children have questions about. Very often, I would hear the answers to my questions pop into my head, and then I would move on to ask another question.
My Grandparents came to visit. They were missionaries in India and were staying for only a month before returning to India. My grandfather was the head of a Christian School for the church and was on furlough once every five years, so I barely knew them except through letters. My parents told them about how independent I am. My grandmother asked if I was afraid to walk to school alone and if I felt lonely. I quickly responded, “No, because I think talk.” All the adults were surprised by my answer, wanting to know more, then chuckled, believing I was talking to myself. However, I knew better.
I never felt fearful and enjoyed my quiet walk to school. I have always been blessed with “think talking” with God. As a child, I didn’t realize God was talking to me and guiding me. God has helped me throughout my life's journey. Only a few years ago did I realize what a gift God has given me by allowing me to hear Him and others who have passed away.
Only recently have I realized that my “think talking” is called clairaudience. As I grow spiritually and develop better connections with God, the gift has expanded to include my parents, my brother-in-law, and a friend from college, who have all passed away years ago. These gifts are given to humans and are available to everyone. It is something that is like exercising. The more you practice, the clearer the clairaudience and telepathy will become.
My message to you is to keep “think talking.” The answers you receive may surprise you!
